We are in the midst of recording our new album, titled “On Being Human” in preparation for the 2018 touring which starts late April. The “Naked Truth” tour will include Europe this spring and then throughout Canada plus a Christmas tour across Canada (and a new Christmas album too!)

“On Being Human” will feature all new songs we have co-written together and with writers from across Canada and beyond. The inspiration we get from our travels, our daily life and the people we meet have fed our passion for sharing stories of inclusion, love and connecting with the human spirit and the spirit of the universe around us. We are excited to share our new efforts with you!

We invite you to check out the to see some video about the campaign and check out all the perks we are offering including some of Cailin’s artwork, concerts and more. Your kind support is most appreciated but it need not always be financial. Your sharing with friends who may be interested, your recommendations for gigs and house concerts, and your good wishes are all very gratefully received and help us in our artistic endeavours.

Stay tuned because we will be posting more song snippets from the studio in coming days and weeks. Thank You!

  • Where there’s smoke, there’s fire…

    Where there’s smoke, there’s fire…

Robert recently posted this on Facebook in relation to our latest video (linked below)

It has been an interesting few days, processing what’s been going on.
A couple of weeks ago Cailin + I went to Nova Scotia Community College and played some songs for the 1st year TV/Broadcast students to get experience doing live video work. They were enthusiastic and really, really great.
We got the raw footage and selected songs to edit into video. One of them, ‘Big Hearts And Small Towns’ is a co-write with Doug Folkins and Lucy LeBlanc which is essentially the story of how our family lost our house to a fire. Easter Sunday 1966. Forever etched in my mind. The images… the brand new house in flames, watching the the plastic of the railing drip in to the basement, the roof crashing down and flames leaping higher. Gone in 45 minutes to ashes and soot.
And then as I listened to and watched the video, thinking about whether it was ‘good enough’ to put out there, I heard the news from Alberta. My home province. I grew up in Edmonton and that’s where we lost the home and the history and gained some lessons.
And I know from my experience, as an 11 year old kid, that it’ll be okay for them… one day. They too may wake up in the night, 30 and 40 years later, and smell the smoke that is only in their imagination but still have to walk the house to be sure. And they too may come to the same realization I did: it’s just stuff.
And they too, mostly, will be okay.

so, yes, the video will be fine, musical warts and all, and Nick Smith is helping us make it as good as he can and it will go online tonight or tomorrow.
Our hearts go out to all those in Alberta who fled their town as they watched their homes and history burn. It’s not a pleasant place to be.

And thanks to those firemen, they’re doing everything they can.

Please Share and click a ‘thumbs up’ if you like it but most importantly, donate what you can to www.RedCross.ca – Alberta fund sends the $$’s to Fort McMurray, Thanks, Robert + Cailin

  • Earth Day 2016 a Song For The Earth

Earth Day 2016 a Song For The Earth

    Earth Day, 2016

Cailin wrote this while we were hosting a songwriting challenge. One week the challenge was to write starting on a different instrument than you have used before. This meditative “Song For The Earth” was filmed here in Nova Scotia. We grabbed our cameras and walked around our East Preston property and took a short drive to Musquodoboit which was the closest spot we knew of where we find a ‘mountain’.

On this Earth Day, 2016 we ask you to consider your place on our planet and how you can make our world a better place for the future generations.

We can change our future. Please Like and Share this message.

  • We’re on a sound track!

    We’re on a sound track!

Ok, it’s not a feature movie but it is still really cool…  Our friend and fan, the fabulously talented artist Jane Appleby, has made another great art video worth seeing even if, like Robert, you can’t paint a stick figure. 🙂

‘Beautiful Today’ from ‘When One Door Closes’ (featuring the guitar & production work of Jamie Robinson) is the sound track.
    Please do share.
Folks in BC can see her work in person at select galleries and exhibitions. Check out locations and Jane’s other work on her site at http://JaneAppleby.com .

  • Summer, CTV and Europe!

    Summer, CTV and Europe!

What a fabulous summer we’ve had here in Nova Scotia! We hope yours is equally wonderful.
We just picked up the video from CTV Morning Atlantic here in Halifax of the interview we did last month. Here it is!

We are so excited preparing for our Europe trip. We get to visit family and friends in England and France and then do 3 weeks of gigs in Germany! Some dates are booked and posted and more details are being finalized and all our confirmed shows are posted here. Please do tell anyone you know in Germany!

  • CBC Review, CTV and…

    CBC Review, CTV and…

Since returning from our BC Tour, we’ve been busy working on the business side of our music. Our new tracks are out to radio (and being played!), CDs have been mailed to supporters abroad, and we’re still working on hooking up with local folks to give them their copy. And we’re doing our best at navigating the strange and challenging world of music venues to book more shows.

CBC reviewWe love the review Bob Mersereau, of CBC, wrote for our new album ‘When One Door Closes’. Thanks Bob! Have a read. It’s a very interesting view on who we are and what we do. It’s been great to get feedback on our new CD, not just from the media, but from you, too! So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive, letting us know we’re on the right track.

Other exciting news is that we were on the CTV Atlantic Morning show on Friday June 12th. It was great fun. Thankfully, it was pre-recorded so we did not have to get up and sing and play for an 8:20 AM call. 10:30am taping is far more civilized!! The two segments are below. We will have a copy up on YouTube soon.

Thanks so much for checking in and seeing what we’ve been up to. More exciting news to come… we are currently booking our European Tour for the fall and will let you know all about it when we have more details. Love and gratitude to all!

  • New videos online

    New videos online

Cailin has been busy lately with her artwork and getting creative with video! She has created these two  videos for songs from our previous release “East”

Cailin’s creativity and artwork shine through on this video for the song “Paper Doll” and has the fairy tale princess and prince drawn and done in stop animation.

This photo collage video features our Golden Retriever, Duke. We had to say our final goodbyes to him late in 2014 and we miss him! Also seen is his partner of 9 years, Daisy. Oh, and some guy. The song ‘Ordinary Day’ is àpropos…

  • New CD and BC tour!

    New CD and BC tour!

We have the tracks and will be picking up the CD’s in time for our BC tour starting April 29th. Our first 4 shows are with Ian Sherwood and remaining 5 shows just us. Many shows are already over ½ sold which is great news! We can’t tell you how super excited we are to share the tracks with everyone next week!! Check out our list of gigs here or on Facebook and tell folks in BC to come say hi!

In the meantime, Cailin has been very busy on her artwork (now has paintings in ‘The Art Zone Gallery’) but even cooler is that her art pens, paper and our GoPro video camera called out to her. She has created an animated video for the song “Paper Doll” from our previous album ‘East’. Stayed tuned for the new album “When One Door Closes” on April 28th and the Halifax CD Release concert June 13th.
