Since there are still people who don’t know who Campbell + Green are (I know! Right?), we continue the process of getting the word out, sending our CD to various radio, print and online sources, talking to people and looking for gigs. Just recently we had this review come back from the British Isles. A nice review, actually, and it is now posted on Amazon and other British online sources.
We’re finally getting some bookings here in Nova Scotia, too. We had great fun playing last Tuesday in Tantallon at the local farmers market. For you West Coasters, Tantallon is just a hop away from Peggy’s Cove. We met some great folks, both locals and tourists. Robert happily sampled a very hearty German Apple Strudel for breakfast, made fresh by one of the vendors. We sold a CD to a delightful fellow who kept coming back again and again to listen to our music. After fulfilling his request for an upbeat blues tune (Flip Flop Fly), he threw a healthy tip into our guitar case! At the end of the gig, we were also gifted with a beautiful loaf of rye bread from one baker, and a German sweet bread from another. Gotta love that kind of support! We’re booked again there next Tuesday afternoon and hopefully, this time, we won’t have an enormous black rain cloud interrupt the afternoon.
On the way from the Tantallon Farmer’s Market, we popped into a new ‘open mic’ venue at Cafe Brea in Dartmouth. A nice little coffee shop. There was a full house that night, about 50 folks or so! Many of them musicians of all genres. We were well received and look forward to going back.
This Sunday night Robert is on his way up to Windsor, NS to play with Kevin Davison & The Smokin’ Section again. The event is the Windsor Summer Festival, with a beautiful stage overlooking the gorgeous waterfront.
And we’re really excited to have just been asked by Music Nova Scotia to be one of the acts for their New Music Fridays at Casino Nova Scotia. We’ll be opening the evening as Campbell + Green with a half hour set of original tunes from our CD this coming Friday, August 9th. Woohoo!
And lastly, Cailin is busy putting the finishing touches on the vocal workshop she will be presenting here at ROCA House at the end of September. We hope to see lots of singer/songwriters and performers join in who are interested in getting more from their vocals when they perform.
Lots to keep us busy for sure! We’ll keep you updated on our progress.
Smiles and hugs to all!
