WE’VE WON!

We are very proud to announce that we have won Bronze for Album Of The Year at the International Singer Songwriter Awards in Atlanta, Georgia! Woohoo! Since we could not get down south for the awards, we’ll have the hardware in a week or so.

We are especially proud of the fact that this album – On Being Human – is the first album we recorded almost entirely ourselves, and did much of the producing ourselves under the watchful eye of our amazing producer and friend, Jamie Robinson. It was a labour of love, frustration, tears, hard learning, falling down and getting up again. Jamie was instrumental in keeping us going with his pep talks and belief in us. We are also proud to have cowritten many of the songs with writers we admire – Lucy LeBlanc (Burnaby), Ivan Boudreau (Coquitlam), Kathryn Berry (Montreal), Joanne Stacey (Salmon Arm) and our Nova Scotia pal, Shirley Jackson.

We learned a ton through this process and are using what we learned as we record our Christmas album, currently underway, for release in November. Christmas concerts booking now! Our new album will have five brand new original tunes, a couple you may have heard on our last Christmas tour, plus a few of the old chestnuts Campbell + Green style. Haven’t got a title as of yet. Anyone have any good ideas?

Our last blog told you all about our last tour to Toronto and back on VIA Rail. Since then, through June and July, we have been playing more local, into New Brunswick to St. Stephens and over to Gagetown, up towards Pictou for a house concert, the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, and next weekend will see us in Yarmouth for the Coal Shed Festival.

Future plans include a jaunt up to Toronto again – this time by car to allow us to see a few sights along the way. We are playing a concert at the Roy Bonisteel Old Church Theatre in Trenton. On and a house concert in Peterborough too. Then, Cailin will be flying from Toronto to Vancouver to spend 10 days with her Mom, and Robert will spend those days with his brother in Peterborough. Following that, we plan to spend a few days around Ottawa working on some recording and video with our bud North Easton. Really looking forward to that. We’ll have a show or two on the way home as well.

So, lots on the go, as always. Hope to see you all at a show soon! We’d love to do a house concert for you. Message us for info.

Big love!
Robert + Cailin
